On a recent Saturday, 1ADDICTS members visited Manhart Racing GmbH in Wuppertal, near the Essen area in NRW (Western Germany).
The Chef/Boss & Technical Director of Manhart Racing GmbH, Christoph Erfurt showed us around the shop and exlpained in detail any questions we had of their various project cars. While Benedict Spohr the sales manager answered the “how much is THAT” questions.
The Manhart crew could not have been nicer to all ofus 1Addicts. It was a fantastic day with lots of cool cars to droll over. They even let us take turns driving their project 1M! How cool was that! And… we even let them drive some of our highly mod’d 1er’s for their expert opinion.

The 2013 Alpina B7, based on the refreshed 2013 7 Series, made its U.S. debut this week at the BMW press launch in Laguna Seca Raceway (along with the 2013 M5 and M6 coupe). This is the closest thing we’ll get to an M7 or M Performance 7 Series (for now) and it was a beast on the track!

It’s a wholly physics defying experience accelerating a nearly 5000 pound car from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, handling corners at speed with little roll, and diving into and coming out of the Laguna Seca corkscrew as if it was a medium sized sedan. No braking company has more panache all-around than AP Racing, not even Brembo. The Brembo Group purchased AP Racing (formerly Lockheed/AP founded in 1919) in 1999, yet each still operate separately today. Brembo’s headquarters are in Italy and AP is in England.
Both compete against each other in nearly all global racing series, with some mildly applied rules for OE accounts. Brembo is better equipped to handle the larger production runs (like Porsche, Mercedes, Nissan, Hyundai, Ford, GM, etc.) with factories in many countries, while AP Racing is often better suited for more specialized, short-run manufacturers (Bugatti, McLaren, Koenigsegg, Lotus, Pagani, Spyker, GTA, etc.). As always, there are exceptions to this paradigm, often due to long established technical or business relationships.

KW has released its V2 and V3 (Variant 2 & 3) “inox-line” coilovers for the BMW 3-series Type 3L (F30) & BMW 1-series Type 1K4 (F20/F21)
For more than five generations the BMW 3-series is one of the most successful models of the Munich manufacturer. Also for the new BMW F30, KW automotive has developed a wide range of coilovers in high quality stainless steel finish. The BMW F30 can be continuously lowered up to 65 mm within the TÜV approved adjustment range. Depending on the variant, the KW coilover kits can be adjusted in damper characteristic by the BMW driver himself.

VS Motorsports shows us the full installation process of an ESS VT Supercharger on the E92 M3. You won’t have to wait hours to see the process from beginning to end however, as the visuals have been truncated through a nice time lapse video. The ESS VT2-625 supercharger system features a Vortech V3 supercharger unit. It boosts the E90/E92 M3 up to 625 HP / 410 ft-kb torque @ 7.0 PSI. Actual install time is an estimated 8-14 hours.

iND provides an updated look at their 2013 F30 328i project car. Without resorting to radical modifications, the look of this Sport Line Imperial Blue F30 has been transformed to a more aggressive look. The F30 3D Design front lip has been fitted for now, with the rest of the kit coming soon. An Eisenmann exhaust system will also be fitted onto their F30.

The Alpina F30 B3 has started development and we’ve got the first sighting of the prototype. The B3 test mule (based on the F30 335i) provides a good preview of the external styling to expect on the F30 B3, with its Alpina front lip spoiler, aggressive trunk spoiler, quad exhaust, and of course Alpina wheels. It appears that Alpina has now changed the front lip spoiler design from its original preview render. The production version is likely to feature a special exterior color as in past Alpina models.
The F30 B3 will be powered by a highly massaged (by Alpina) N55 engine which should output more than the 400HP from the current B3 S’s N54 engine. It will be offered in automatic transmission only. Expect a top … CONTINUED
