Without posting details about your MMI, hard to answer anything.

Issue with Andream MMI
Hello,
I have purchased Andream MMI, the NBT version, since I have a HU_ENTRYNAV (NBT system but without NAV). I connected everything as instructed on the forum, however when I switch to AA screen, nothing is shown (black screen). When I switch to BMW menu, it works fine, so I believe I have connected everything correctly. I'm doubting there might be an issue because I have upgraded the basic 6.6 screen to 8.8 one some time ago. However, I have put the dip switch position as for 8.8 screen - 123 to ON. Do you guys have any clue why it does not work? Thanks |

I can confirm the audio sounds terrible via AUX so i'll be switching it back to Bluetooth, interestingly on my BMW E92 2010 CIC I have what appears to be a later CUST version ?? SDK Version: 25.0.0.7.0.0.2.0 CUST Version: EW_CHL_1.6.16R2_n MCU Version: 21.7.21.117 HW Version: B_CHL_G Also.. are you able to play Youtube Videos ?, I can log in to my Youtube Account, see all my videos but when I select Play it Loads but never plays, then returns back to the Youtube home page... I have an Iphone 14 Pro Max with the latest updates..I wonder if this could be the issue as the MCU Version is 2021. |

Do you have anything showing when NOT in the OEM menu? Or just black screen? Is there "No signal" displayed? Can you hear audio when in MMI screen mode but black? 1. check that all connections and LVDS are firm and seated. Re-seat the quadlock connectors. 2. Make sure DIP switch settings is ON and not OFF (labeling is funky) 3. try different DIP switch settings (search this thread and read first page) 4. LVDS cable(s) maybe backwards (unlikely)

My guess is that it's an Andream type firmware based on the format, but do not know ModsUK...maybe someone else does. Some sellers add protection in their firmware (even if it looks like Andream or Road Top) that may brick the MMI if you do not install their files. I did not get my YouTube on my Road Top NBT working, because after two tries it failed, and I did not have the patience to figure it out since I only use YouTube at home. Someone else may be able to help you there. Not sure which iPhone had problems with the MMI....14 or 15? But it was not a YouTube issue, if I remember correctly.

Some notes for anyone who may later run into the same issues:
I had an NBT emulator. Depending if you installed the emulator before the MMI, or between the MMI and the HU....it could block CAN messages. My MMI was not able to detect the reverse cam CAN message when installed it on the KCAN2 car bus between the MMI and NBT HU. MMI => Emulator => NBT HU. I had to use the manual sensing wire connected to the backup light. So should connect like this: Emulator => MMI => NBT HU (tap emulator into MMI harness) When I removed the NBT emulator (not needing it) after using full set of after-market FSC codes....the MMI was able to receive that CAN message. Another issue. If your CID in MMI-mode goes intermittently black (not the "No Signal", just a blank CID) while driving, one of your LVDS cables may have a break in it. It connects and disconnects seemingly randomly, but mostly when the car is in motion as the wire inside is cracked.

When I switch to MMI screen/mode, nothing is shown, just black screen. I did not try to connect to AA yet, because I do not see even the basic MMI menu, so when I switch to MMI screen I can hear audio source that is currently selected in OEM headunit (BMW bluetooth, radio). 1. I re checked LVDS connection, that was my first guess, even tried switching LVDS cables in following way: HU -> original LVDS -> MMI -> new LVDS cable -> screen vs HU -> new LVDS cable -> MMI -> original LVDS -> screen this did not help As for the quadlocks, I could try re-seating them, but if this was an issue wouldn't there also be problem with OEM menu and functionality? 2. I have double checked it, arrow is pointing down for ON, so I've put 123 down, could it be reverse ? 3. I've read first 10ish pages, seems that 123 should be the only correct combination? What else did you had in mind? 4. What do you mean by backwards (see my answer in 1.) I this even possible ? |

You have done everything I would have done. My guess is either DIP switch setting.... or.....LVDS cable pin orientation is off by 90 degrees or 180 degrees. First check if you have power going to your 4+2 (6 pin) connector's red wire and check the black/brown? if you have ground. Do for both LVDS cables. Possible that your positive and negative are switched. If you get power to your CID, you should get an orange "No Signal" displayed. So looks like your CID is not getting power. Either missing power from the HU to the MMI or missing from the MMI to the CID...or both. If the 2 power wires were switched around, your 4 data pins maybe also switched. If that's the case...you can ask the seller to send you the correct cable. Or carefully pull out the two pins (pos and neg) and swap them. Or cut the the pos/neg power cables and swap them. Do not cut any of the 4 data (video signal) cables as they are RF protected. You have APIX1 CID?

What is the other possible DIP combination I should try? Also, as mentioned earlier, the OEM menu is shown correctly, wouldn't this also be affected if LVDS cables were wrongly connected? What is APIX1 CID ? I have upgraded to Alpine AL3011 8.8 CID - 9387453024 OEM number |

APIX1 is the older video signal and will not work with APIX2 and vice versa. I believe yours is APIX1 which should work ok with the NBT MMI. I would search the thread for DIP switch settings that others posted and fixed theirs. There are only a couple more setting options on that, not like infinitive. 11100000 what it should be. Try 01100000 or 00110000 Wild guess: 11110000, or 11000000 Unless your MCU file is messed up, or your CUST Version firmware is corrupt. But I would wait on that for the seller as they should have a better idea. Are you sure your MMI is for NBT? Any markings? I assume you cannot see the firmware either because of the blank screen

It seems that MMI menu is always shown correctly on the old 6.5 screen, no matter the dip switch combination (re-connected MMI every time I changed switches) : 00000000 11000000 11100000 11110000 but of course, the OEM menu is then not shown since I have coded it for 8.8. However, with the mentioned DIP switch positions I never managed to get it to work with bigger screen, as if the MMI is ignoring the dip switches (only change I saw was when switch 4 was ON, I couldn't exit MMI screen). I can additionally try the 01100000, as suggested. I took a picture of SW version with the old screen connected (see attachment), as for the device, the box it came in says EW-LBMCP-NBT02B |

fe7565 Thanks a lot for your help, I found the solution.
Apparently, I got a different HW version from the Andream seller - EW-LBMCP-NBT02B This version is different, so the correct dip switch position is this: 00000010 Unfortunately, I did not found updates for this version and it does not have the same options like "Use car BT" which I would like to use. I will talk to the seller because I don't like that this version does not have all the support and updates that are posted in this thread. |

Following my last post, which described the experience and process of updating my Andream (EW_NBT_04X) (https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=30493099 ), I decided to update it to enhance stability with my iPhone 14 Pro (which occasionally lost its settings) and to improve some features. Here’s what I did, with some additional details...
I extracted all the files from the reference in this post https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...ostcount=11935 My starting point was:
After updating (in the order specified) the MCU with N3MCU_G.bin (extracted from GD-ENB--MCU--20230112) and the ISPBOOOT.BIN (extracted from lcbmw2e_n_EW_B2_1.6.16_n), I ended up with:
Additionally, as an extra, I changed the BMW boot "Logo Image" and "Carplay icon" to my own version, which I'm sharing here if you’re interested:
What I've noticed is:
