Also, as mentioned earlier, the OEM menu is shown correctly, wouldn't this also be affected if LVDS cables were wrongly connected?

What is APIX1 CID ? I have upgraded to Alpine AL3011 8.8 CID - 9387453024 OEM number
Yes, you are correct, if the OEM menu shows then the LVDS cables are ok.

APIX1 is the older video signal and will not work with APIX2 and vice versa. I believe yours is APIX1 which should work ok with the NBT MMI.

I would search the thread for DIP switch settings that others posted and fixed theirs. There are only a couple more setting options on that, not like infinitive. 11100000 what it should be. Try 01100000 or 00110000

Wild guess: 11110000, or 11000000

Unless your MCU file is messed up, or your CUST Version firmware is corrupt. But I would wait on that for the seller as they should have a better idea.

Are you sure your MMI is for NBT? Any markings? I assume you cannot see the firmware either because of the blank screen

I just found my old screen, so I've removed all the trim again and tried many different configurations with the old screen.

It seems that MMI menu is always shown correctly on the old 6.5 screen, no matter the dip switch combination (re-connected MMI every time I changed switches) :

00000000
11000000
11100000
11110000

but of course, the OEM menu is then not shown since I have coded it for 8.8.

However, with the mentioned DIP switch positions I never managed to get it to work with bigger screen, as if the MMI is ignoring the dip switches (only change I saw was when switch 4 was ON, I couldn't exit MMI screen).

I can additionally try the 01100000, as suggested.

I took a picture of SW version with the old screen connected (see attachment), as for the device, the box it came in says EW-LBMCP-NBT02B

fe7565 Thanks a lot for your help, I found the solution.

Apparently, I got a different HW version from the Andream seller - EW-LBMCP-NBT02B

This version is different, so the correct dip switch position is this:
00000010

Unfortunately, I did not found updates for this version and it does not have the same options like "Use car BT" which I would like to use.

I will talk to the seller because I don't like that this version does not have all the support and updates that are posted in this thread.

This is a firmware format that is very different from the Andream and Road Top. Cannot be of help here.

Following my last post, which described the experience and process of updating my Andream (EW_NBT_04X) (https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=30493099 ), I decided to update it to enhance stability with my iPhone 14 Pro (which occasionally lost its settings) and to improve some features. Here’s what I did, with some additional details...

I extracted all the files from the reference in this post https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...ostcount=11935

My starting point was:
  • SDK Version: 25.0.0.7.0.0.2.0
  • CUST Version: EW_B2_1.6.13_n
  • MCU Version: 21.9.13.122
  • HW Version: B_N2_1_G

After updating (in the order specified) the MCU with N3MCU_G.bin (extracted from GD-ENB--MCU--20230112) and the ISPBOOOT.BIN (extracted from lcbmw2e_n_EW_B2_1.6.16_n), I ended up with:
  • SDK Version: 25.0.0.7.0.0.2.0
  • CUST Version: EW_B2_1.6.16_n
  • MCU Version: 23.1.12.117
  • HW Version: B_N2_1_G

Additionally, as an extra, I changed the BMW boot "Logo Image" and "Carplay icon" to my own version, which I'm sharing here if you’re interested:
What I've noticed is:
  • So far, more stability, without losing connection (at least from now).
  • Although it might have been from my last update, I can now enjoy the two cameras I’ve installed connected to the module (since my car did not come with them and only has sensors at the back). This is because I can specify how long the front camera stays on after switching from reverse (with its camera) to driving forward ("From View Time Set". Without this, my car would remain a while in reverse (the time it’s programmed to show me the parking sensors) and never switched to the front.
  • Since my last update, I use the car’s Bluetooth audio (highly recommended for the improved audio quality compared to the module’s AUX). Those of us who use it know that SIRI’s sound was very low. With this update, it seems everything remains the same.
  • Regarding the sound of SIRI, nothing has change. Still too low the sound. I am afraid that is a problem with iOS.

Emm I asked about yours, but anyways mine is roadtop b2, running on B2R168_a, will update today to B2R176 as I saw it is the latest here but font think it addresses this issue specifically.

Here's the B2R176R2 version from a couple of days ago for NBT B2: https://we.tl/t-qs0FcxUAOM
Can you upload it to a different site that will keep it up?
Maybe mega or file.io?
Thanks

I have updated the links to the logo images and the CarPlay icon, because the previous ones were not working. I hope there are no issues now.

Phone is iPhone 15 Pro Max

Firmware issue, you need 1.6.16_R2 -- than should work.

I did not get my YouTube on my Road Top NBT working, because after two tries it failed, and I did not have the patience to figure it out since I only use YouTube at home. Someone else may be able to help you there.

Not sure which iPhone had problems with the MMI....14 or 15? But it was not a YouTube issue, if I remember correctly.
You're right about the firmware, my guess is that it's their modified version so I wont be doing any updates as i'm already unimpressed with this unit, updating my brick it. .... would still like to get YouTube working though

So even with that firmware that you have Airplay does not work?
You have everything like me, except the Cust Version. I asked already Andream to see if they have any updates. In case they give me some updates for CIC, I will attach them here so you can also use them. I am pretty sure you also have the Andream Version.

For steering wheel control scroll, try to code (Bimmercode expert or other).
These are CIC and NBT, so if you have NBT EVO use the equivalent codes:

BASIS_KOMBI_MMI_LIST = aktiv

or...

HU_NBT > KOMBI_CIC > kombi_low

and MMI_List > aktiv

----------------------
Phone call issues:

Make sure that in the phone Bluetooth settings the device is set to "car speaker" and that you have given the myriad of permissions that Android requires for BLE and wifi connections.

If no go: try to delete all BLE connections from car and MMI and phone and re-pair all of them again ( I know it's a pain)

If no go: then may want to try to use only BLE between the phone and the MMI only...or the phone and the car only (do not see much benefit).

==================

The MMI seems to boot up at times a fraction later than the HU. This causes an internal CID bus error that you cannot see unless you use ISTA+, but you can ignore it. But this is also happening when powering off the HU and the MMI. That's when you see the "No Signal" in the CID. This is something that short of a hardware solution the Chinese manufacturer should be fixing via coding.
-------------------------------------

I tried using YouTube but could not set it up. Gave up after a couple of tries since it's not a priority. How did you get yours working?

--------------------------

Yes, as long as you are in BLE range of the car with your phone, it will want to stay connected or may reconnect.

At times, if you go out of BLE range, and then return about 10-20 mins later (assuming that the HU did not yet go to sleep) the MMI will not reconnect to my phone via BLE. May be 1 out of 10 times. I have to press BACK button for 3+ secs to reboot MMI and then it reconnects 19 out of 20 times. If that does not work, I may have to delete the phone to MMI BLE link and re-pair again.
I think you must have read my post way too quick.
1. My steering wheel controls work just fine on the car, there is no need for me to code anything, as seen by others, it simply doesn't seem to work with the Android Auto mmi box.
2. I do not have any bluetooth issues.
3. YouTube I never attempted to use, just made an observation that it will likely want to use the AUX instead of the car Bluetooth. I have no desire in loosing audio quality just to use YouTube via the MMI-Box, I'll have alternatives if I need them.

Considering the box interfaces with the car, stays on and boots after some time, if you have this installed you WILL see codes in the HU_NBT portion when car is scanned, again, not the end of the world. Just something to keep in mind.

Is there another way to test AirPlay ?, just so I can rule out if it’s YouTube.. and I’m sure this unit is Andream and I’m hoping that German ModsUK sends out updates to all their customers when they’re released

You just need to connect an iPhone device in the AirPlay menu of the MMI. Also, it says that you have to unselect "Use car's bt phone something" in the setup. I tried today with 3 iPhones, 15 Pro Max, 12 Pro and XR and none of them work so curious to see what Andream says about this.
Regarding your problem, you should send a message to ModsUK to assist you with the updates

Anyone knows where to get the Andream for NBT systems? Im located in Norway and cant seem to find it on AliExpress. Did however find a Andream website, and they also claim to have EU warehouses: https://www.andream-eu.com/product/ewm-bmcp/
Does anyone have any experience with this website?
