BMW has released a set of new ads highlighting some of the technologies available in its lineup. They deliver the message with some humor, reminding us of the 6 ad spots which debuted during the last Super Bowl.
Hartge has officially released its software ECU piggyback tune for the BMW 4-cylinder turbo N20 engine. It yields impressive power gains of +45 horsepowers and +45 ft-lb torque! The tune can be applied to the F30 328i, F10 528i, F25 X3 xDrive28i, and E89 Z4 sDrive28i. Check out a video of the tune in action inside.
The Hartge ‘Engine Conversion’ is a bespoke tuning module that plugs in ahead of the engine computer on the wiring harness. It has factory-style plugs to connect in-line with the water temp sensor, fuel rail pressure, turbo boost pressure sensors, turbo wastegate valve, intake camshaft sensor, 12V power and ground. Over 52 teams from 21 European countries competed in the recently concluded BMW X3 Games 2011. Over 15,000 registrations entered for this contest of physical and sports events in Geneva to win three new BMW X3s (for the winning team). The 6 disciplines in which the contestants competed were: running, golf, skiing, driving, mountain biking and sailing.
In the end, it was team from Hungary who each went home with a brand spanking new X3.

BMW returned to the Super Bowl broadcast tonight after a 10-year hiatus, unveiling a strategy that forcefully communicates two competitive advantages of BMW. The first commercial is a poignant piece focusing on BMW’s economic commitment in America as told through the voices of the company’s associates at its manufacturing facility in South Carolina. The second commercial uses humor to showcase BMW Advanced Diesel vehicles as a cleaner, efficient alternative to other types of vehicles.
