Schmiedmann shows off its 591HP 1M coupe replica with a supercharged E39 M5 V8 (S62) engine and other monster BMW builds.
The 1M coupe was offered in only 3 factory colors, which left many wanting more color choices. This explains the trend of so many 1M coupes getting color makeovers in the aftermarket, usually by way of vinyl wraps.
This is one of my favorites so far - an 1M in Candy Grey Metallic. It looks terrific - flashy without being overly so and looks particularly good matched to its ActiveE hood (with hood bump/bulge).
On a recent Saturday, 1ADDICTS members visited Manhart Racing GmbH in Wuppertal, near the Essen area in NRW (Western Germany).
The Chef/Boss & Technical Director of Manhart Racing GmbH, Christoph Erfurt showed us around the shop and exlpained in detail any questions we had of their various project cars. While Benedict Spohr the sales manager answered the “how much is THAT” questions.
The Manhart crew could not have been nicer to all ofus 1Addicts. It was a fantastic day with lots of cool cars to droll over. They even let us take turns driving their project 1M! How cool was that! And… we even let them drive some of our highly mod’d 1er’s for their expert opinion.

On July 21, 2012 the M Owners Club of Indonesia (MOCI) had their monthly event in Bandung, attended by 20+ M cars - ranging from 1Ms, M3s, E60 & F10 M5s, and M6. Seen at the event were many updates to members’ cars like a CRT front lip on the frozen gray M3, a couple done up 1Ms, and a 12″ ADV.1 on E90 M3. Looking forward for the next event! Manhart Racing released its first 1M Coupe program last year - the 415 horsepower MH1 Biturbo, but the German tuner is back with an even more potent version - the 465 horsepower MH1 S-Biturbo.
The MH1 S-Bitrubo 1M features what Manhart calls its Stage 3 tuning program. The Stage 3 program bumps the 1M’s power up to 465 hp and 442 ft-lb torque via their ECU software tune, upgraded intercooler, oil cooler, carbon fiber air intake with carbon fiber piping, sports exhaust system, and downpipes.
The suspension is upgraded via coilover suspension and the MH1 S-Biturbo sits on 20-inch AC Schnitzer Type 5 forged wheels with Continental Sport Contact 5 tires.

The 1M is a rather unique short-run car and apparently its owners think that it calls for a rather unique color, as seen in the several custom colors we’ve already see the 1M coupe in.
This one has been painted in Irie Green, fitted with 10mm spacers in the rear, lowered on Bilstein B16 PSS10 coilover suspension and powered by a lightweight titanium exhaust system.

UK 1M owners from 1ADDICTS had their largest owners meet yet yesterday at the Ace Cafe. Over 18 1Ms were in attendance, along with a 1M 123d replica and a 135i.

The very limited production M3 GTS may be difficult to attain, so Japanese tuner Studie has taken a slightly more attainable (though still exclusive) model, the BMW 1M coupe, and given it a M3 GTS look, complete with fire orange exterior paint, black wheels and the high rear racing wing from the M3 GTS. Modifications on the Studie 1M include:
