The BMW Group continued to perform successfully during the period under report despite difficult market conditions. Sales volume, revenues and earnings figures all constituted new highs to date for a third quarter. Revenues during the three-month period from July to September rose by 13.7% to € 18,817 million (2011: € 16,547 million). The profit before financial result (EBIT) increased by 13.8% to € 2,004 million (2011: € 1,761 million). Check out the results of Sport Auto’s Supertest of the Alpina B3 GT3 in which they call it “the legitimate successor of the BMW M3 CSL.”
The Alpina B3 GT3 is a limited edition model where only 99 were made. It’s based on the Alpina B3 S Bi-Turbo, but 8 more HP (by re-design of sections of the exhaust and new enhanced Akrapovic rear silencer. Its N54 engine outputs 408hp / 540Nm of torque.

The BMW Group experienced growth in many regions around the world in September and achieved another record month in sales. With 177,716 (prev. yr. 159,223) BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand automobiles delivered worldwide, sales were 11.6% higher than in the same month last year. It was also the best first nine months for the company, with sales up 8.3% compared to the same period last year. A total of 1,335,502 BMW Group vehicles were delivered during this time (prev. yr. 1,232,619).

The summer season always brings BMW enthusiasts together and this past weekend saw yet another meet and greet gathering BMW fans and owners in the hotbed of BMW and M enthusiasm – Southern California.
Steve Thomas BMW hosted its BMW and MINI meet at its location in Camarillo, California. Check out some of the great rides in attendance, which at one point reached nearly 200 cars and over 300 people.
Sunday, August 19th was the BMW Car Club of BC’s Concours, held at Waterfront Park in North Vancouver. Overcast sky made for an unspectacular backdrop but the neutral lighting also granted the ability to take pictures from almost any angles.

BMW has issue a service bulletin (SIB / TSB) which will allow dealers across the country to reprogram / code all BMW models with the Auto Start-Stop feature so that the system defaults to the “Last User mode” (last used setting) the next time that the car is turned on. The ///M Flight members from BIMMERPOST cruised together this past weekend to to visit Manhart Racing Zentrale in Wuppertal, Germany during the tuning company’s open house.
They rolled out of Kaiserslautern seven cars deep at around 0730 and spent about 3.5hrs due to traffic and the weather traveling only 190miles (mind you this is Germany and with their autobahns it should be no more than 2 hrs).
