Two 335i F30 race cars (the first we know of in the world) will debut in South Africa on March 31, 2012. These cars are built and raced by ADF Motorsport based at the Kyalami Race track. They will race in the Bridgestone Production Cars race in the WesBank Super series and be broadcast on Supersport in South Africa.

BMW launched and announced its initial M Performance Parts lineup officially at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow. While the now released M Performance Parts official catalog explains much, we took some time to find out some more details for you. Stefan Weiss of the M Performance Parts team was helpful in giving us some further insight.

Please give us a quick overview on the M Performance Parts. What’s the motive for ‘renaming’ the Performance Parts program to M Performance Parts?
M Performance Parts are now available for the new 1 series, 3 series, and 5 series. In this video, the Product Managers of BMW’s new M Performance Parts retrofit accessories explain and show us the philosophies, process, and techniques behind the development of the BMW M Performance Parts. As one can see, the M Performance Parts are developed in collaboration with BMW M designers and engineers for both visual and performance enhancements.

As soon as the production vehicle process is completed, the technical sketch and design phase for M Performance Parts begins. Only real carbon fiber is used in the production of M Performance Parts components.

With 127,634 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand automobiles delivered worldwide (+14.2% / prev. yr. 111,724), the BMW Group achieved its best-ever February sales result. A total of 239,800 (prev. yr. 216,917) vehicles have been delivered to customers since the start of the year – an increase of +10.5% compared with the same period last year.

The highly anticipated M Sport Package for the new F30 3-series sedan has made another appearance, this time at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. While earlier shows and presentations saw the 335i M Sport, this is the first time we see a 328i getting the M Sport treatment. As most should know, the exterior color is called Estoril Blue II and it’s exclusive to the M Sport package.

This car is also fitted with the M Sport Brakes comprising of fixed piston calipers painted in blue at all 4 corners (4-piston units at the front, 2-piston units at the rear).

The M Sport Package for the F30 3-series will be available as of July 2012 production, with first US deliveries to be expected in September.

It’s still quite new on the market but already has many admirers: In February, the new BMW 3- series was launched officially. Now the smart, energetic Bavarian is winning even more hearts at the international Motor Show in Geneva - helped by the tuning specialists at AC Schnitzer.

The Aachen-based experts from AC Schnitzer help the 3-series make an even more impressive appearance with a performance upgrade for the BMW 328i. An extra control unit allows it to deliver 217 kW/ 295 HP and a maximum torque of 410 Nm onto the asphalt, and with its governed top speed of 250 km/h the 3-series by AC Schnitzer tightens the bonds to its driver. The M Performance Parts party continues. Just minutes after our Live Gallery of the F20 125i equipped with M Performance Parts, BMW has published the full M Performance parts catalog to coincide with its official release/announcement at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow.

M Performance Parts carry the M name because they have been developed together with M engineers for both performance and aesthetics enhancement. This collaboration with M engineers began just last year. This is what sets M Performance Parts apart from what used to be called simply “BMW Performance Parts” (which will be no more going forward).
