Popular science magazine has posted up its most advanced for 2009. In the category of most advanced luxury sedan, our very own 750i/Li has come out on top!

Quote:

The 2009 BMW750i and its larger brother, the 750Li, exemplify the latest trends in automotive technology. First, theres the smaller, more efficient engine; a twin-turbocharged V8 spools up to 400 horsepower, making the new 7 faster than the outgoing V12-powered model. Inside, the ridiculously spacious sedan is loaded. The High-Beam Assist monitors approaching cars, automatically dims the brights, and switches them back on the instant the car passes. Its no secret. We love Alpina cars But love affair aside, it is a rare sight to see an Alpina car on the road. The guys at Autogespot have done just that and spotted a B7 while refuelling somewhere in Belgium. This car will be arriving in the USA soon enough and I have a feeling there will be quite a few people queing up to buy this car.

Just to recap. 4.4l twin-turbo V8 producing 500HP. More information on the Alpina B7 can be found here.

Enjoy

I have to admit that I have the biggest soft spot for Alpina vehicles. I was estatic when the Z8 was sold in Alpina trim in the US (well except for the slushbox). I was even more excited when the previous generation 7-Series was sold in Alpina B7 trim. The sheer power and style of this car, combined with the rarity in the USA combine to make a droolworthy vehicle on every level.

Now its back in F01 trim. The car will make its official debut at the 2010 Chicago Autoshow (February) as the 2011 BMW Alpina B7.

Pushing the beast is a twin-turbocharged and direct-injected 4.4-liter V8 pumping out 500 horsepower and and 516 pound-feet … CONTINUED
