Musical chairs for the next generation M3′s powerplant continues. If Autoexpress’ latest rumor is accurate, the F30/F32 M3 is expected to feature a tri-turbo 3.3L 6-cylinder motor. One of the turbos would be powered by electricity (not exhaust gases as with traditional setups). The motor is speculated to produce 450bhp.

An epic race journal from M3POST member karussell who not only competed in, but finished, the recent 24 Hour Nurburgring Race. Along with 4 drivers, he piloted car #215, an E36 M3 running in V5 which is a stock class for gas engines between 2.5L and 3.0L in size. There were 13 cars in their class. Color us unsurprised. At the M Night last Thursday, BMW pulled the wraps off the M3 CRT (Carbon Racing Technology). As we reported, it’s the most focused E90 M3 version yet, making use of innovative carbon fiber production technology. Powered by a 450hp 4.4L version of the award winning S65 V8 engine and exclusively painted in Frozen Polar Silver, production of the M3 CRT is limited to only 67 units.
