The M235i is a substantial 4 seconds quicker than the M3 around the track, a huge advantage (as also commented by the Auto Bild crew).

The E46 M3 is still the rawer and more entertaining car (according to one of them), but the guy “sponsoring” the M3 has to admit defeat in the end.
