BMW today announced a new M Performance exhaust system specifically designed as an accessory for the BMW M3 Coupe, Sedan and Convertible. With the racetrack and the street in mind, this new exhaust system is crafted from an extremely heat-resistant and lightweight chrome-nickel alloy called Inconel®. This flow optimized exhaust system reduces exhaust backpressure and allows the M3’s 414 horsepower V8 engine to produce an even more powerful sound.

Turner Motorsports provides an update on their new Rolex GT M3 build for next season’s Grand-Am series, which will replace their M6. Here, they discuss the widebody full carbon fiber bodywork and dealing with the heat generated from the engine compartment.
Last season was Turner Motorsports’ first in the Rolex Sports Car Series, after competing in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge since 2004.

For some prospective, this is faster than the Ferrari Enzo, SLR McLaren, Carrera GT. Here is a video covering the GS Bildeler Supercharged E92 M3 2010-year-in-review. The GS Bilderer E92 M3 is primarily a competition drift car powered by a ESS VT2 supercharger putting down 650hp and 500 lb-ft torque.
We’ve seen many great videos of some great runs on the M3, showing proper lines, shifting, and overall driving, but this one takes the cake on how NOT to drive on the Nurburgring. The driver is clearly unfamiliar with the proper way to run on the Nordschleife and to handle his M3. His driving follies would be entertaining, if not for the fact that it poses danger to others on the open-to-public track.
